Natural energy through solar power

The owners of the Art Déco hotel Elite have not only defined «going green» as a strategy, but are also implementing it – among other things with a photovoltaic system of 50kWp.

The Art-Déco-Hotel Elite in Biel consumes for all services and amenities considerable amounts of electricity. In order to reduce the costs, a photovoltaic system was installed on a total of four roof surfaces about a year ago with the support of Bouygues E&S InTec Schweiz AG. Thanks to this system, since then enough electricity can be produced during the day to cover most of the hotel’s operations – especially when the sun shines. «Depending on the season or the number of hours of sunshine, we can reduce the electricity costs per month by up to 4000 Swiss francs», says Geev Bahrampoori, director of the Art Deco hotel Elite.

The photovoltaic system has proven itself several times over: not only are the electricity costs lower, but the environment is also less polluted. «With solar power we use natural energy and thus make an active contribution to the sustainable protection of our planet», says Bahrampoori. This is also a sales argument today and is perceived and appreciated by the customer.
